Welcome to Hamro Blood Bank (HBB), a digital platform developed under Action for Changes through Technology (ACT Nepal) to connect blood donors, recipients, organizations, and hospitals across Nepal.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of:

• Our website (including portal.hamrobloodbank.com)

• Mobile applications

• Organization/community admin panels

By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Definitions

• Platform: Hamro Blood Bank system (web + mobile + portal)

• User: Any individual using the platform

• Donor: A user who registers as a blood donor

• Seeker: A user requesting blood

• Organization: Community groups, NGOs, hospitals, blood banks using the system

• We/Us: Hamro Blood Bank / ACT Nepal

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to register as a donor

• Users under 18 may use the platform only with guardian supervision

• You must provide accurate and truthful information

4. Nature of Service (Important Disclaimer)

Hamro Blood Bank is:

• A facilitation platform, not a blood bank or medical authority

• Not responsible for:

  • Medical screening of donors

  • Quality of blood

  • Clinical decisions or transfusions

Final responsibility lies with hospitals, medical professionals, and donors.

5. User Responsibilities

By using the platform, you agree:

• Not to post false or misleading blood requests

• Not to misuse donor information

• Not to engage in spam, harassment, or illegal activity

• To respect urgency and ethical nature of blood donation

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

6. Donor Terms

As a donor, you agree:

6.1 Voluntary Participation

• Blood donation is completely voluntary

• You may accept or decline requests at your discretion

6.2 Accuracy of Information

• Provide correct blood group and health status

• Update availability status regularly

6.3 Health Responsibility

• Follow medical guidelines (e.g., Nepal Red Cross standards)

• Do not donate if medically unfit

6.4 Liability

• HBB is not responsible for:

  • Any medical complications

  • Misuse of donor contact information outside platform control

7. Blood Request (Seeker) Terms

• Requests must be genuine and accurate

• Misuse (fake emergency, spam requests) may result in account suspension

• You are responsible for verifying donor suitability through medical professionals

8. Organization / Community Portal Terms

Organizations using HBB agree:

8.1 Ethical Usage

• Use donor data only for legitimate blood donation purposes

• Do not sell, distribute, or misuse donor information

8.2 Data Accuracy

• Maintain correct records of:

  • Donors

  • Events

  • Blood inventory (for hospitals/blood banks)

8.3 System Integrity

• Avoid duplicate, fake, or manipulated entries

• Use admin tools responsibly

8.4 Hospital / Blood Bank Responsibilities

• Ensure safe handling of blood

• Accurately record:

  • Storage

  • Usage

  • Expiry and wastage

9. Account Management

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • False information

  • Misuse of platform

  • Violation of these Terms

Users may:

• Update their profile

• Request account deletion

10. Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is collected and used.

11. Data & Platform Usage

• Actions of users, donors, or organizations

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HBB and ACT Nepal from:

• Claims arising from your misuse of the platform

• Violation of these Terms

• False or misleading information provided by you

14. Service Availability

We aim to keep the platform available at all times, but we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted service

• Error-free performance

We may:

• Modify or discontinue features

• Perform maintenance without prior notice

15. Compliance with Nepal Laws

Users and organizations must comply with:

• Health and blood safety regulations in Nepal

• Ethical donation practices

• Applicable digital and data laws

16. Modifications to Terms
