Premsagar Karmacharya Donates Blood for the 186th Time
Sindhupalchok, Nepal — Renowned voluntary blood donor Premsagar Karmacharya has marked his 186th blood donation, setting a new personal milestone.
He donated blood during a program organized at the premises of Palchoki Bhagwati Temple, a well-known religious and tourist destination in Helambu Rural Municipality–3, Sindhupalchok.
With this contribution, Karmacharya surpassed his previous record of 185 donations, continuing his long-standing commitment to voluntary blood donation.
Promoting Awareness Among Youth
Speaking at the event, Karmacharya shared that his continued efforts are driven by a mission to raise awareness among young people about the importance of blood donation in saving lives. He has been actively participating in donation programs across various districts of Nepal to inspire wider community involvement.
Call for Policy Change
Karmacharya also expressed concern over the practice of charging patients for blood that has been voluntarily donated. He stated that he intends to urge the newly formed government to ensure that donated blood is made available to patients free of cost.
Community Participation
A total of 17 individuals, including both men and women, participated in the blood donation program.
Formation of District Committee
On the same day, the Sindhupalchok District Ad-hoc Working Committee of the Nepal Volunteer Blood Donor Society was formed. The committee is chaired by Dhan Bahadur Pandey, a lifelong member of the organization.
